Most people think of childhood as carefree and easy. But children can have problems and feel stress. When there are significant changes in their world, like divorce, move to a new school, or death in the family can be very stressful. Such changes can be confusing and involve a range of emotions and behaviors. Some children may need a little more help than their parents, and that is where we can help. If a child is experiencing problems at school, home or other environments that includes acting out, becoming violent, becoming very quiet and withdrawn, a counselor may be able to help.
Shield Bearer offers highly trained and educated counselors who can provide the kind of confidentiality and individualized assistance that can help you get started in the right direction. Shield Bearer assists children who are struggling with all types of issues, including:
- Long periods of sadness
- Withdrawn behavior
- Conflict with friends
- Inability to Concentrate
- Regression to younger behavior
- Academic stress
- Anger outbursts
- Fantasy talk about future or past
- Feeling anxious and scared all the time
- Eating issues
